Over thirty years’ experience in the HVAC&R and Heat to Power industries spanning three countries (UK, France and the USA). As Product Director for TAS (Houston); directed, from a startup to a significant revenue business unit, their Organic Rankine Cycle (ORC) power generation systems. As Program Manager for Johnson Controls, Industrial Systems group; Management of the diverse range of specialist refrigeration and chiller products offered by YORK including absorption, steam turbine, gas engine and multistage compressor systems. As Engineering Manager for York International; design of many refrigeration systems for the process industries.
Representative Assignments
- Developed many large and customized petrochemical refrigeration systems covering temperatures to -100°F / -75°C
- Expertise with hydrocarbon, halocarbon, ammonia and water closed and open loop process cycles.
- Managed multistage centrifugal refrigeration compressor product business unit.
- Lead the development of a clean sheet Organic Rankine Cycle (ORC) Turbine.
- Developed the cycle design for a new range of ORC products using both subcritical and supercritical fluids.
- Oversight of a product development program for a range of water to water heat pumps.
- Developed a product range of steam turbine drive chillers.
- Commercialized a range of natural gas engine drive chillers.
- Designed customized chilled water cooling plant, many of which are the largest machines available in the world today.
